Spain is the theme
Recently, I made an illustration for Gastronomic Souvenirs, a company based in Barcelona to be applied on many different formats: packaging, postcards, etc.
The exploration stage of this project was long and interesting. How would you represent Spain, in general, without focusing on one specific city or region?
After some research we find out that most foreigners (the target audience) associate Spain with sunny days, flamenco, and historical architecture sightseeing.

At the beginning we went for a landscape illustration, with no character, showing the sea and beach, inspired by Sorolla's painting of Spanish coasts. But we thought that placing a character would give much more visual "strenght" to the project.
